A couple of weeks ago I was shooting Nathan and Rachel's wedding and asked my second shooter if he'd like to go on a roadtrip to KC for Sunday. Figuring it was last minute and he is usually pretty busy he wouldn't be able to go I knew it was a long shot. My brakes were on the fritz and I couldn't drive. Glad he wasn't busy.... we had a blast. So much so he took a vacation day the next day for more shenanigans and he's planning on going again next year. As always I got dressed up and this time I had someone taking pics for me... lol JK! Completely grateful sir! I didn't shoot as much and haven't had a chance to even peek at them but here are just acouple of my favorites that I shot.... followed by a slideshow of Mike Smith Photography's pics of me at faire!

Shot a gorgeous family session today on a farm. I love old equipment and fields! teasers should be up soon!
I've worked with Liz at 2 House of Style Magazine shoots and wanted to work with her individually.... We shot this on the 4th of July at the Springfield Nature Center and I am so pleased! She just laid right down in the water and fought the awful sun blazing down on us. We did get reprimanded for not being on the path once, but stuck to the rules after that. Such a beauty!
Check out her fanpage! I just happened to stop by the infamous sunflower field on my way out of town after the Merrick Wedding and the little lady happened to be there. I was just going for some arty landscapes but I later found a hair on my sensor!
Its no shirtless pirate but I did shoot some burning fruit for a book cover a few years back. The book wasn't published but I still like the images and may pull out the matches again. Shot with natural light and ambient flame light. There is a red pear, and apple and a bowl of rosehips en fuego. Two beautiful souls come together. They met on a mission trip in Texas and have plans to move to his native country of New Zealand in a few years. Sweet and shy and such beautifully kind humans... I was honored to capture such a signifigant moment in their lives! I shot a lovely couple yesterday. Luke & Kelci... this is just some quick phone shots but an idea of what is ciming soon.
This was a session at the Hotel of Terror in Springfield, MO this spring. Lovely couples session. I have to be honest. Its in my top ten sessions of all time! I had a blast. It was wet, hot, dark and nearly impossible to manuever the maze of a haunted house with all of my gear... sweating from the humidity and the closed off building. These guys are amazing entertainers.
